Glass Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Martin Liebman April 21, 2019
Universal and Target have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for Director M. Night Shyamalan's 'Glass.' The SteelBook includes
the film on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital and the same on-disc content as found in the wide release in standard packaging. No UHD SteelBook is available. For more on the
SteelBook's look and feel, see the 'Special Features and Extras' tab below for more.

Glass Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

Target and Universal's SteelBook release of Glass features art by Alex Ross. The front and rear panels include a number of characters reflected
in variously sized and shaped shards of broken glass. Characters like Mr. Glass, David Dunn, "The Horde," and Dr. Staple appear on the front while the
rear side is a hodgepodge of additional characters, both those rendered in more lifelike reproductions (as is the case on the front) intermixed with
more comic book style characters and panels. The front cover features the film's title in white lettering a bit above center. The director's name and the
names of his three leading men -- McAvoy, Willis, and Jackson -- accompany the title, above. The artwork wraps around the top, bottom, interior side
edges, and the spine, the latter of which features the film's title in the same font and color as the front, just shrunken down to fit the smaller space. A
Universal logo appears at the bottom. The front and rear sides are not glossy and will not fingerprint.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand side tabs. The two discs, one Blu-ray and one DVD, are housed on the right,
staggered-stacked. The inner print depicts a handshake spread across both panels. On the left is Dr. Staple's hand. Her sleeve runs up her arm just
high enough to reveal a shamrock tattoo that is critical to the movie's plot and revelations. It's a terrific inner image. It's simple and uncluttered but
conveys one of the movie's most important plot points. This is a very nice SteelBook all-around.

Glass Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

This is a well-rounded SteelBook, offering admittedly busy but also fairly unique front and rear panels with a number of familiar, and in some cases not
so familiar, character renditions. The inner print is very basic but very effective. The on-disc content is terrific, but it's disappointing that Target didn't
opt to carry a SteelBook with a 4K disc inside. For those happy enough with the Blu-ray, this SteelBook comes highly recommended.
