Sony has widely released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the hit 2024 sequel film 'Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the 4K UHD/Blu-ray combo pack wide release. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras 

Sony's smooth and semi-glossy UHD SteelBook release of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire shows the title team, backs to the viewer, at the bottom, doing team-based battle against a formidable foe appearing top and center, mostly in silhouette. Around is a chilly, icy, and snowy atmosphere, with the Ghostbusters HQ on the right and some other obstructed structures on the left. Some metallic-looking lightning bolts appear overhead. The rear panel features a similar structure with lighting, ice, and snow, but with a focus on the ECTO-1, seen prominently at the bottom. The city is barely visible behind, and Slimer makes an appearance, too, opposite a taxi hurtling through the air. The spine continues the icy chaos and features the film's title, center, and a Sony logo appears at the bottom. It's busy, but it's exciting and nice to look at.

Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are staggered-stacked on the right hand side. The inner panel is almost a mirror image of the exterior spread, but with the characters missing on the right-hand side.

Sony has delivered a quality SteelBook for this release. It might have benefited from a little more variation, but it certainly captures the mood of the film well enough. Video and audio are spectacular, and the supplements are solid. Recommended for film and franchise fans and packaging collectors.
