Mill Creek has released a pair of Universal films to Blu-ray: 'The American' and 'Leatherheads.' Both films were previously released to Universal in 2008 and 2010. Mill Creek's double feature places both films on one disc and drops all supplements. Video is slightly inferior. Audio is very close if not identical in both instances. See below for links to individual reviews of the Mill Creek discs.

All supplements which were on the Universal discs have been dropped. That includes an audio commentary track for each film, amongst several other supplements. No DVD or digital copies are included. This release does not ship with a slipcover.

These are fine films, though they have absolutely nothing in common beyond starring George Clooney. Mill Creek has presented them capably, even with troubled compression. Audio is fine. No extras are included. At time of writing, this set is selling for just over $18 on Amazon. The superior Universal issues can be purchased together in individual packaging for $18. Unless shelf space is at so much of a premium that one extra case is going to make a difference, pick up the still-available Universal discs instead. There's just no reason not to. If this was priced at $9.99, then absolutely, get this. At time of writing, however, the individual Universal releases just make more sense.
