Friday the 13th Part III Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Martin Liebman May 12, 2022Paramount has widely released a 2-D Blu-ray SteelBook packaging variant for the 1982 Slasher sequel film 'Friday the 13th Part III.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release, which was previously only available as part of a larger boxed set. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Friday the 13th Part III Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

This glossy-smooth SteelBook features simple front panel artwork which is essentially the famous image of Jason stabbing through a curtain with the
blade facing outward, blood dripping off the end, in a 2-D effort to recreate a 3-D image. The film's title appears scrawled in familiar franchise font
across the bottom, slight angled up to the right. The rear panel is also glossy black with the words "Be Right Back" scrawled in white with some red
slashes and dripping blood across the center. Some logos and legalese appear along the bottom. The spine is black with the title, as it appears on the
front, centered. A Paramount logo has been placed at the top and a Blu-ray logo at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The single Blu-ray disc is situated on the right on a central hub. The inner
print is a two-panel spread that features Jason strangling a victim, who is sitting in a car. The image is tinted red.

Friday the 13th Part III Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

This SteelBook's design is nothing particularly special, but it's nice to see Paramount gradually releasing these to the market, and at a decent enough price point at that. This is hardly the best film or the best Blu-ray in the series, but collectors will want to be sure to pick it up.
