The title character leads viewers through an accidental travelogue of U.S. social history from the early 1960s through the present in this revisionist fable. Vietnam, desegregation, Watergate, and more are presented from the perspective of loveably slow-witted Forrest Gump as he finds himself embroiled in situations he can't quite comprehend.

Paramount and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for Director Robert Zemeckis' cherished 1994 film 'Forrest Gump.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.
Sadly, Paramount has made no effort to do right by the film's 4K presentation for this release, sticking with the same substandard, noise reduced, pasty and plastic and smooth image for this release. For a full UHD video review, please click here.

Paramount's Forrest Gump 4K SteelBook favors a relaxing baby blue color scheme. The outside panels are slick and glossy with simple design
cues. The front panel features the classic image depicting Forrest sitting on the park bench with the box of chocolates on his lap and his suitcase to his
side. The film's title in dark blue, with Hanks' name in a brownish-red color in accompaniment, appears at the top just left of center, leaving room for a
large white feather floating along the top right and bending down towards the midline. The rear panel simply contains the text of one of cinema's most
oft-quoted lines: "Life is like a box of chocolates...you never know what you're gonna get." It is attributed to "Mama." A black Paramount logo appears
bottom left. A Model number, also in black, can be found bottom right. The spine is the same blue color with the film's title, just as it is on the front,
center. A
Paramount logo has been placed at the top while UHD and Blu-ray logos can be found at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code floats; there are no left-hand side tabs to hold it down. The three discs, one UHD and two Blu-ray, are situated on the right
and left hand sides: one disc on its own hub on the left and two on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that contains images of assorted chocolates, 24 in total across both sides.

Forrest Gump's UHD has earned a pleasantly simple and relaxing SteelBook, but it includes the same substandard UHD released in 2018. For fans and packaging collectors only.
