Classic tale of teen rebellion and repression features a delightful combination of dance choreography and realistic and touching performances. When teenager Ren and his family move from big-city Chicago to a small town in the West, he's in for a real case of culture shock. Though he tries hard to fit in, the streetwise Ren can't quite believe he's living in a place where rock music and dancing are illegal. There is one small pleasure, however: Ariel, a troubled but lovely blonde with a jealous boyfriend. and a Bible-thumping minister, who is responsible for keeping the town dance-free. Ren and his classmates want to do away with this ordinance, especially since the senior prom is around the corner, but only Ren has the courage to initiate a battle to abolish the outmoded ban and revitalize the spirit of the repressed townspeople.

Paramount has widely released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the 1984 film 'Footloose.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the UHD wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Paramount's SteelBook glossy and will show some handling fingerprints in the darker areas. The front panel depicts what appears to be the exterior of a
Walkman with a cassette seen inside the window, center. The film's title appears in the familiar script top center, and a slight worn sticker depicting a
headphone-wearing Kevin Bacon has been affixed on the right. Both the Walkman and the sticker enjoy an 80s-style background. The rear panel looks
like the back of
the Walkman with the same 80s-inspired design, here with five stickers applied, each somehow related to the film. The spine also features the same
design characteristics. The film's title appears in the center and a white Paramount logo has been placed at the top.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print features a series of photos on the left-hand side, as well as a sticker that reads "everybody cut, everybody
cut footloose," against an 80s-inspired background. The right side includes a picture of the same cassette from the front, here also showing the inside
of
the Walkman as well. A folded movie poster is also included. It was glued onto the back of the SteelBook but it also fits perfectly inside the SteelBook,
uder the left-side tabs.

This is a very nice SteelBook. It perfectly captures an 80s vibe with the Walkman and the cassette so much of a central focus, as well as the blend of stickers and 80s graphics. The film looks great on UHD and represents a major upgrade from the terrible Blu-ray. Recommended!
