Overview

Five Nights at Freddy's 4K Ultimate Collector's Edition IconArt (2023)

Struggling to take care of his ten-year-old sister Abby on his own, the generally undependable Mike is low on options when he lands this new job to pay the bills and bring her along to the gig. Mike quickly realizes, however, that the night shift at Freddy’s won’t be as kickback as he was thinking after he makes a disturbing discovery that the pizza place’s four horrifying animatronic mascots all apparently come alive, moving about on their own as they hunt down and attempt to kill anyone that is still at Freddy’s after midnight.

Five Nights at Freddy's 4K Ultimate Collector's Edition IconArt Blu-ray Movie Review

Reviewed by Justin Dekker November 13, 2025

Based on the popular video game franchise, the 2023 film 'Five Nights at Freddy's' returns on 4K UHD disc in this 'Five Nights at Freddy's: Amazon-Exclusive Ultimate Collector's Series 4K' courtesy of Universal. With a cast featuring Josh Hutcherson ('RV, 'The Hunger Games' franchise), Mathew Lillard (from countless live-action and animated 'Scooby-Doo' films, 'Thir13en Ghosts'), and Mary Stuart Masterson ('Some Kind of Wonderful', 'Bad Girls'), the film follows the down-on-his-luck and troubled Mike (Hutcherson) as he starts a new job as an overnight security guard at the long- abandoned and eerie Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria where things are definitely not as cheery, harmless, and family-friendly as they seem. For a discussion of this new SteelBook and the package's other contents, please scroll down to the "Special Features and Extras" section. A Digital Code redeemable through Movies Anywhere is also included.

Measuring approximately 13" x 9.75" x 1.5", the Five Nights at Freddy's: Amazon-Exclusive Ultimate Collector's Series 4K box is quite sizeable, and is made to resemble a pizza box from the establishment. It efficiently houses the included content with little wasted space, it's size and dimensions are largely driven by the size of the metal poster. A tab closure keeps the lid secure. Opening the box reveals the the question "Can You Survive?" printed on the underside of the cover in large black letters. The metal poster in it's protective sleeve lies on top of the box's other contents. The metal poster is just slightly smaller the than the dimensions of the outer box, and has the same glossy finish as the SteelBook. The poster has a large image of Freddy, Foxy, Bonny, Chica, and Mr. Cupcake above a graphic the reads "Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place". The glossy finish helps the colors pop nicely. On the right is the hanging solution for the metal poster. It consists of an adhesive square that is affixed to a magnet which is then positioned and stuck to the desired surface - most likely a wall. The metal poster is then held firmly on the wall by the magnet. Those with other releases from this line can switch between posters with ease as a result. Under the Certificate of Authenticity is the new SteelBook that sports a glossy finish. On the cover, Freddy emerges from the colorful depths of a ball pit. The image is dark and sinister. The simple black spine holds the film's title in its typical font in the center, and Universal's logo at the bottom. The back cover features Foxy, Bonny, Chica, and Mr. Cupcake also eerily rising up from the below surface of the ball pit. It is similarly dimly lit. Universal and Blumhouse's logos are found in the lower left corner, and a product number is found in the lower right. Opening the SteelBook, the Digital Code rests under the two tabs on the left side. On the right side, the 4K UHD disc and the Blu-ray disc are stagger- stacked, each on its own hub, with the 4K UHD disc on top. Removing the discs and the Digital Code reveals a two-panel image of the lethal animatronic robots. The glossy SteelBook does not have any embossed or debossed elements, but I personally find it preferrable to the previous SteelBook.

Five Nights at Freddy's 4K Ultimate Collector's Edition IconArt Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation  4.0 of 5

Five Nights at Freddy's was highlighted by an amazing set, fantastic iterations of Freddy and his crew, and a proven cast consisting of Josh Hutcherson, Mathew Lillard, and Mary Stuart Masterson. Though not as frightening as it could or should have been, franchise fans will no doubt be excited to see the video game brought to life in such a fully realized manner. The technical merits of the film's 4K presentation are strong. With the second film in the series due to arrive in theaters in December 2025, this release is timed to give fans of the characters and the game's world a reminder of the first film's events along with premium packaging and a unique collectible. The Five Nights at Freddy's: Amazon-Exclusive Ultimate Collector's Series 4K comes recommended to the film and/or the game's fans, and fans of Universal's new line of releases.
