It’s been close to seven years since my Find Me Guilty Blu-ray review of the original 20th Century Fox release of this film was published, so maybe there’s some kind of excuse for me not having remembered this film even one little bit from its cover and description, until I opened it up and began watching it again. The film may suddenly be relevant again in more ways than one since a certain high profile “personal attorney to the President” shows up here in some archival footage which helps to establish that this story of a huge RICO case against a crime family is “ripped from the headlines”.
Find Me Guilty is presented on Blu-ray courtesy of MVD Marquee Collection, an imprint of MVD Visual, with an AVC encoded 1080p transfer in 1.78:1. I refer you again to my Find Me Guilty Blu-ray review for my thoughts on the 20th Century Fox Blu-ray, as well as for an opportunity to compare screenshots. Find Me Guilty was digitally captured and I'm assuming finished at a 2K DI. This is in many ways pretty similar and in fact I'd argue downright identical to the Fox release, in terms of fine detail, clarity, and overall resolution. This release does look just slightly warmer to my eyes, with somewhat better saturation that helps to support a somewhat more natural look with regard to elements like fleshtones (compare screenshot 1 in the Fox review with screenshot 1 in this review for some idea of what I'm talking about).
Unfortunately, MVD is only offering a lossy Dolby surround track on this disc, a definite step down from the lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track that the original 20th Century Fox Blu-ray release offered. That perhaps disappointing aspect is arguably a bit less problematic than it might otherwise be since this film really doesn't have a ton of "showy" sonics, and instead is a pretty relentlessly talky piece. That said, both the bursts of surround activity in the crowded courtroom scenes as well as the rather nice Jonathan Tunick score (see my Find Me Guilty Blu-ray review of the Fox release for a bit more information if you don't recognize Tunick's name) certainly could have benefited from lossless audio. The stereo track is misidentified as Dolby Digital on the menu, but is LPCM 2.0.
In one of the odder "rejiggerings" of previously released supplemental material I've seen recently, this release cuts up the already pretty short interview with Sidney Lumet contained on the old 20th Century Fox Blu-ray release into various short snippets (some as brief as nine seconds, as documented below), I guess to maybe make it seem like there's more supplementary content. There is a "Play All" option, but even that simply cycles through the separately authored snippets. Titles with an asterisk (*) are part of the Lumet interview.

The original 20th Century Fox Blu-ray release of Find Me Guilty seems to be going at a premium on sites like Amazon, and so that in and of itself may be enough to recommend this new release to those with an interest in the title. That said, while video is arguably minimally improved, audio takes a step backward and some of the already minimal supplements from the Fox release haven't made it to this one, for those considering a purchase.
