An Iowa farmer hears a voice in his cornfield accompanied by a vision of a baseball field. He takes it as a sign to build a baseball diamond which would ennable Shoeless Joe Jackson of the infamous Chicago "Black" Sox to play ball again.

Best Buy and Universal have collaborated on a store exclusive UHD SteelBook release for the magical 1989 film 'Field of Dreams.' The SteelBook includes the same on-disc and digital content as is found in the wide release packaging. See the 'Special Features and Extras' portion of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Best Buy's exclusive SteelBook is a beautiful one. The front image is a simplistic dusk shot with the sun peeking over the Iowa cornfield. There's a
small
streak of pastel-pink daylight which gives way to a purple, and increasingly dark towards the top, night sky full of stars. The outline of a baseball
diamond is formed in the sky as if a constellation. Kevin Costner's name appears along the outfield area. The film's title appears slightly above center
in white letters. The rear panel is identical, carrying
over the same image but removing the title and the constellation outline. A Universal logo and a little bit of legalese appear bottom-center. A model
number appears lower-right, all in white lettering. The spine maintains the same color scheme, reinforcing the wraparound panorama feel. The film's
title appears
in white letters, center, while the Universal logo, also white, appears at the bottom. The exterior is slick and prone to attracting fingerprints.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that handsomely captures one of the film's iconic images, depicting the eight White
Sox
players emerging from the cornfield. The image is tastefully presented in black-and-white.

Field of Dreams has aged, and will continue to age, as gracefully as any film ever made. Its timeless story of the bond between father and son and the connective language of baseball still pulls at the heartstrings all these decades later, and Universal has given the film new life with a striking UHD presentation. The SteelBook is a beautiful bit of packaging art and earns my highest recommendation.
