Ferris Bueller's Day Off 4K Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Martin Liebman August 17, 2023
Paramount has widely released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the classic 1986 John Hughes Comedy 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off.'
New specifications include 2160p/Dolby Vision video and Dolby Atmos audio. This SteelBook is in turn identical to the 2020 FYE exclusive SteelBook and the wide release 2021 edition. Below is simply a repurposing
of that release's SteelBook packaging review with a few very minor modifications. New pictures are also included.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

The SteelBook is fairly smooth and slick but because of its more forgiving color scheme it won't readily show the fingerprints it collects. The front and
rear panels combine to form a single image, depicting Ferris relaxing in the red convertible. On the front, he is seen leaning back and slightly out of the
side, hands behind his head, a big old grin spread across his face. The car's hood fills the bottom third of the space while the film's title in red,
accompanied by Matthew Broderick's name, appears top center also in red. The rear panel shows the other side of the car's hood with Ferris' feet
propped up on the door and extending a little beyond. There is nothing but white space at the top. The spine maintains the sliver of the image that
curves around on it. The film's title appears center. A Paramount logo has been placed at the top.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The single UHD disc is situated on the right on a single hub. The inner
print is a two-panel spread that depicts one of the more memorable shots from the film, featuring Ferris, Sloane, and Cameron in the museum, similarly
posed as they examine a work of art.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

Paramount's SteelBook is simple but attractive, hearkening back to core artwork and a famous moment from the film. The two-panel exterior spread
captures the movie's essence quite nicely and the interior image depicts
the
film's three main characters. The new UHD presentation is rock-solid. Very highly recommended!
