Available alongside their standard 4K and Blu-ray editions, Warner Bros. also offers this Limited Edition Steelbook 4K/Blu-ray combo pack of Sébastien Vaniček's Evil Dead Burn. As with the studio's other recent Steelbooks, the two main draws here are collectable packaging and having both formats (which used to be the rule, not the exception), since on-disc contents are exactly the same as those found on their widely-released counterparts.

For details about each disc's video quality, see my recent reviews of the standard 4K and Blu-ray editions.

More details about the audio quality, which is identical on both discs, can be found at either review linked above.

This two-disc release ships in matte-finish Steelbook packaging whose front cover design, at least in my opinion, is less interesting than both standard editions linked below. The entire palette is a near-monochromatic rust color with lightly blood-covered protagonist Alice (Souheila Yacoub) staring weakly up at the film's logo with a nondescript background indicating she's somewhere inside the farmhouse. The back cover features a demonic face from the notebook, while the interior splash image shows a close-up of Alice perusing the same notebook and its scribblings. This isn't the worst design in recent memory, but some color or textural variety would've made it a bit more interesting.
As for the extras, they're identical to the standard 4K and Blu-ray editions and present on both discs.

Evil Dead Burn's brutal treatment of its unmemorable characters were at least one reason why it didn't connect with most audiences, as it did less than half the business of Evil Dead Rise, and I damn sure wouldn't blame anyone for checking out early or waiting for reviews on the next film before seeing it. By most metrics (including mine), that spells trouble for a franchise that's managed to have an incredibly long lifespan considering its extremely modest origins. Regardless, those who enjoyed (?) Evil Dead Burn will at least appreciate the supportive A/V merits of Warner Bros.' separate 4K and Blu-ray editions, although the extras leave a lot to be desired, and this Steelbook takes it a half-step forward with collectable (but somewhat dull) design elements. Whether or not Arrow will step up later for a more fully-loaded import remains to be seen... but until then, this one's recommended to established fans only.
