Enter the Dragon 4K Blu-ray Movie Review

Three against the world.

Reviewed by Randy Miller III September 18, 2025

Released a full two years after the domestic 4K-only edition, Warner Bros. once again resurrects Robert Clouse's Enter the Dragon with this handsome 4K Steelbook combo pack created for the UK market but region-free for everyone else. With identical on-disc contents that include a fully restored A/V presentation (which includes the original mono audio as well as a brand-new Atmos track) and both cuts of the film, the real upgrade here from WB's domestic release -- which was also available as a different Steelbook variant -- is the pack-in bonus of of a Blu-ray, in this case the fully-loaded 40th Anniversary Edition. This means that in addition to nifty packaging, you'll also get hours upon hours of legacy bonus features that Warner Bros. sadly left off the domestic 4K-only release. When will they learn?

For a synopsis and appreciation of Enter the Dragon, travel back in time to Kenneth Brown's review of Warner Bros.' 2007 Blu-ray, a write-up he also used for his coverage of their 40th Anniversary Edition. Criterion later released Enter the Dragon on Blu-ray in 2020 as part of their Bruce Lee: His Greatest Hits collection which included both the Special Edition and the less common theatrical version that excised 4 minutes of "philosophical" footage, including an early conversation between the Shaolin Abbott and Lee as well as a flashback during his last fight. WB's 4K disc offers both restored versions on the same disc, which are encoded separately rather than using seamless branching.

For my thoughts on Enter the Dragon's 2160p/HDR10 transfer, please see the 4K review linked above. As mentioned earlier, the included Blu-ray copy of the film is identical to WB's 40th Anniversary Edition, also linked above.

Enter the Dragon 4K Blu-ray Movie, Audio Quality  4.5 of 5

For details about both the recently-created Dolby Atmos and original theatrical mono mixes (the latter of which was apparently new to digital home video on the 4K edition), or of course the included Blu-ray's respectable DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 audio merits, please refer to either of the appropriate reviews linked above.

This two-disc release ships in slightly reflective Steelbook packaging with spot-gloss elements and shows very light fingerprints when handling. Although I'd admit to liking Warner Bros.' domestic 4K Steelbook with its stylish red design scheme, original poster art always wins: that vintage design sits front and center, surrounded by a silver border and the familiar tagline Their deadly mission: to crack the forbidden island of Han! The back cover is much more plain, sporting only a small black-and-white sketch design of two fighters competing with film credits at the bottom, while the interior spread features a striking splash image of "Lee" stalking his prey in the climactic "Hall of Mirrors" scene similar to the screenshot below. Both discs sit on overlapping hubs on the right-hand side, and each of then includes bonus features identical to their linked stand-alone counterparts and listed below for your convenience.

DISC ONE: 4K UHD (Identical to WB's US 4K Edition)

  • Introduction by Linda Lee Cadwell
  • Audio Commentary with producer Paul Heller and writer Michael Allin

DISC TWO: BLU-RAY (Identical to WB's 40th Anniversary Edition)

  • No Way As Way
  • Wing Chun
  • Return to Han's Island
  • Audio Commentary (same as above)
  • Curse of the Dragon
  • Blood and Steel
  • Linda Lee Cadwell Interviews
  • In His Own Words
  • 1973 Archive Featurette
  • Backyard Workout with Bruce
  • Trailers and TV Spots

Enter the Dragon 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation  4.5 of 5

Enter the Dragon is a 1970s action classic and a fantastic gateway drug for those new to martial arts films, and WB's 4K restoration makes it shine like new. Sadly, the studio's domestic wide-release and Steelbook, both released in 2023, don't include a Blu-ray copy of the film or the hours upon hours of legacy bonus features including with those older releases. This new UK 4K/Blu-ray Steelbook combo pack (100% region-free) rights both of those wrongs and also features poster-themed cover artwork for die-hard fans and collectors alike. Highly Recommended.
