The film is centered on a young girl and her family in Latin America, who all have magical powers. Sadly, the young girl has no powers.

Disney and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for the 2021 animated film 'Encanto.' This is the first in Disney's new "Disney 100" line of SteelBook re-releases. The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. Note that this is the second SteelBook release for the film; the previous version released in conjunction with the film's UHD debut in February 2022. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Disney has released Encanto as the first in its line of "Disney 100" UHD SteelBook re-releases. It is likely that this will set a design trend for
SteelBooks in this series to follow. The front and rear panels are smooth and predominantly silver, which is reflective and attractive. These areas will
show a little bit
of fingerprinting. Center is a small, vertically oriented rectangular image featuring Mirabel, smiling, looking off to the left, playing her accordion. Above,
center, is a debossed "Disney 100" logo. Below is the film's title, again with "Disney" accompaniment, but it is neither embossed nor
debossed. The rear panel is entirely silver with the exception of a small debossed blue butterfly, centered. The spine is very cool. It, too, is silver, with
the film's title center, a Disney Blu-ray logo at the top, and a Disney 100 logo at the bottom. The Disney 100 logo is also spaced throughout the length
of the spine in a light gray accent color.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features a colorful front-facing image of the Madrigal Casita that is
featured in the film; it is a beautiful image.

It's curious that Disney would lead this new SteelBook series with a new film rather than one of its classics, but it does show off the new design scheme very nicely. Obviously, this is aimed at serious Disney collectors, and it will more than likely look great when it's matched with more of the future releases. Recommended.
