Empire: The Complete First Season Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Jeffrey Kauffman November 5, 2015
If you’d like a salient example of just how popular Empire is, look no further than the fact that not even two months after Empire: The Complete First Season
was released on Blu-ray, this new Gold Record Edition is being released, at a time when many long running series have found their Blu-ray days
numbered. For my thoughts on Empire as a show, please see our original Empire: The Complete First Season Blu-ray review .

For the differences between this edition and the first Blu-ray release, please see the Supplements section below.

For legacy supplements on the first three Blu-ray discs, please see our Empire: The Complete First Season Blu-ray review. This new edition contains a fourth Blu-ray disc (a BD-
25) which includes:
- "Pilot" - Director's Cut (1080p; 51:52) adds a little bit more than five minutes to the running time of the episode, but really offers no
earth shattering developments that those not wishing to double dip will most likely will ever miss.
Additionally, this release comes with a
CD Soundtrack featuring 17 songs culled from the first season.
Empire: The Complete First Season Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

My hunch is few if any who have already sprung for the first Blu-ray release of Empire's first season are going to feel a deep need to
double dip. Even those who haven't yet picked up the show and are inclined to may want to check the price difference between the two editions
and decide which is the better value. In terms of the show itself, Empire comes Recommended.
