Dune: Part Two 4K Blu-ray Movie Review
Shiny and chrome! (Whoops, wrong franchise.)
Reviewed by Randy Miller III May 9, 2024
Available alongside the separate 4K
and Blu-ray editions, this harder-to-find
4K Steelbook of Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Two is the only way to get both formats in one shot... and in
nice-looking packaging to boot. Not surprisingly, disc contents are 100% identical to the regular versions, meaning that this one's aimed at collectors
only.

For a synopsis and overview of the main feature, please see my review of the
4K edition.
Dune: Part Two 4K Blu-ray Movie, Video Quality

For my thoughts on both the 2160p/HDR10 (Dolby Vision compatible) 4K transfer and the 1080p/SDR Blu-ray transfer, please see my separate reviews
of the 4K
and Blu-ray editions.
Dune: Part Two 4K Blu-ray Movie, Audio Quality

For details about Dune: Part Two's massively effective Dolby Atmos track (which is identical on both discs), please again refer to my review of
the 4K edition. Hell, just leave it open in
another tab.
Dune: Part Two 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

This two-disc release is housed in a glossy Steelbook case with attractive design elements, depicting a gargantuan sandworm below the film's logo and
a rear shot of Paul Atreides and Chani standing before a striking sunset. Inside is a two-panel image of the desert floor with a "Thumper" on the left
side. On the right are overlapping hubs with both the 4K and Blu-ray discs. Although inarguably a bit heavy on the orange and red (some contrast
might have been nice), this is still a very good-looking Steelbook and much better than the standard 4K imagery. Please note that I added the
glittery "Spice" effect -- it's not on the actual case, even though it probably should have been.
The bonus features are identical on both discs; for a list and more details, see my standard 4K review.
Dune: Part Two 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Two is an outstanding follow-up to the first chapter and well worth the three-year wait. Warner Bros.' separate 4K and Blu-ray will get the job done for fans, but this more elusive Steelbook edition is the only way to get
both formats at once... and the packaging looks great, too. It's worth the pick-up for completists.
