Dune 4K Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Jeffrey Kauffman October 8, 2021
Arrow kindly sent the steelbook version of Dune 4K so that members could get a closer look, but one of the nicer surprises to this release
may not be the admittedly sweet packaging, but the fact that, unlike many of the label's 4K UHD releases, this one contains both a 2160 and 1080
disc with the feature film (along with the second 1080 disc of bonus features). A foldout poster is also housed in the steelbook.

Since this release contains both the 2160 and 1080 discs, those interested can peruse my two reviews of the different formats/releases for my
thoughts on the film:

On disc supplements are detailed in the above-linked reviews. This steelbook offers a reproduction of the key art that is also seen on the 4K UHD disc.
A colorful matte finish is appropriately "gritty" looking, giving the sandy environments that are part and parcel of Frank Herbert's story. Both the front
and back covers emphasize a nice combination of purples and blues, with an illustration that prominently features Kyle McLachlan and Sean Young,
along with a shadow contingent of what might jokingly be referred to as "and the rest". An inside print offers a still of two of the more prominent
British actors in the film, Sting and Patrick Stewart.
Dune 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

If you have been scratching your head (as your intrepid reviewer has) as to why Arrow keeps releasing their 4K UHD product without included 1080
discs offering the main feature, this steelbook may be a welcome surprise. And in fact, while the packaging is rather nice and colorful, it's the
fact that this release does offer both 2160 and 1080 discs featuring the film, as well as the 1080 disc of bonus material, that may make this a
"must buy" for fans. Recommended.
