Dragon Ball Super is the exciting sequel and follow-up to the beloved anime classic, Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball Super is a fun and adventurous sequel with plenty of action-packed episodes for fans of the original. Crunchyroll has released a nice limited- edition collection of the complete series with the entire series run. The Dragon Ball Super: Complete Series (Crunchyroll Store Exclusive) features an exclusive art box only available through the Crunchyroll store.

One thing about Dragon Ball Super that is special is that Akira Toriyama is the mastermind behind the series. Toriyama continued his own legacy as he began with Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. Akira Toriyama is a special person and a special artist.

It was heartbreaking when Akira Toriyama had passed away in the past year. It was a huge pain for Dragon Ball fans of all ages and generations. Many fans mourned Akira Toriyama’s passing and paid tribute to the creator of Dragon Ball. Akira Toriyama, we will miss you, and we will never forget your legacy.

Released on Blu-ray by Crunchyroll, Dragon Ball Super: Complete Series (Crunchyroll Store Exclusive) is presented in 1080p MPEG-4 AVC encoded high-definition in the original television broadcast aspect ratio of 1.78:1 widescreen.

Dragon Ball Super: Complete Series looks outstanding in high-definition with beautiful native high-definition animation. Colorful animation and crisp art work provide a stunning native presentation that looks modern while remaining faithful to the aesthetic and character designs of the original anime series. The encoding is well done and capably handles the exciting action scenes. Though Dragon Ball Super: Complete Series looks different than the hand-drawn and film-based animation of the original anime, the sequel still looks remarkably good and fans will be pleased with the presentation.

Dragon Ball Super: Complete Series Blu-ray Movie, Audio Quality 

The release includes a selection of lossless audio options: English Dolby TrueHD 5.1 surround sound and Japanese Dolby TrueHD 2.0 (with English subtitles). The release includes impressive lossless audio and it certainly adds to the quality of the release.

One of the great things about physical media and the Blu-ray format is the lossless encoding. Streaming video services only provide lossy audio (non-lossless) and it is often not quite as crisp as lossless can be. Sometimes the difference is notable and it can make a solid impression. It is nice knowing one has the best presentation and option available for home theater enthusiasts with nice gear and equipment. Audiophiles are especially prone to notice these differences and can appreciate the audio quality improvements that the format offers.

Dragon Ball Super: Complete Series Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras 

Dragon Ball Super: Complete Series (Crunchyroll Store Exclusive) has received a webstore only collectors edition box-set with exclusive artwork and outer packaging. The exclusive artwork looks fantastic and certainly makes a solid impression. For someone who doesn't already own the series, it is well worth consideration.

If there is something to nitpick about the packaging, it's that the art-box itself is rather flimsy and not as well manufactured as it could have been. I prefer sturdier chipboard art boxes that are less prone to be damaged and that do a better job of displaying and housing the individual sets – take, for example, the VIZ Naruto complete series set (which features a stunning chipboard art box that is more durable by comparison).

Dragon Ball Super: Complete Series Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation 

Dragon Ball Super: Complete Series (Crunchyroll Store Exclusive) is worth consideration for a fan who doesn't already own previous Blu-ray editions – either the standalone season sets or the gorgeous steelbook releases. The Blu-ray release features a gorgeously designed collectors art-box, though packaging is somewhat flimsy compared to the steelbook box-set (which I personally preferred). Collectors looking to own the complete Dragon Ball Super in one go will be pleased with the release and might choose to opt for this edition over other editions. It is difficult to imagine fans being disappointed by this box-set even if the art-box could have been a bit more rigid and durable. A nice complete series set. Recommended.
