Comic legend Alex Ross' beautiful black-and-white art of Bela Lugosi's Dracula, which fans first saw as part of his Universal Monsters series at the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con, graces the cover of this Walmart-exclusive steelbook. Centered on the front cover, Dracula, astride an cobweb shrouded open stone staircase exerts his power over a helpless Mina whi is clad in a flowing, gossamer white gown; a stark contrast to Dracula's black suit and cape. A lone bat flies toward the viewer. The couple are lit as if by a spotlight with a dramatic shadow cast on the wall behind them. The back cover merely showcases the title of the film over a greyscale field that is evocative of mist or fog. Universal's logo is positioned in the bottom left corner. Opening the SteelBook, the left side is dominated by a menacing Bela Lugosi as Dracula, flanked by a still of Van Helsing confronting Dracula to the left, and a wild- eyed Renfield to the right. Both discs are housed on the right side, with each disc secured on its own offset, stacked hub. Under the discs, we see two pictures of Dracula (one with Lucy and one with Mina) at the top, as well as a picture of the three female vampires from the film's beginning at the bottom. And collectors will also be delighted to know that the matte finish does a splendid job of resisting fingerprints. Please follow this link for a look at the on-disc material.

As a long-time fan of Alex Ross's work and a SteelBook collector, this release is impossible to resist. A landmark film housed in a SteelBook with art that captures the essence of the film in a single image, Universal's Walmart exclusive release of Dracula 4K is one that every fan will want to seriously consider adding to their collection, especially if they've already picked up the Creature From the Black Lagoon 4K Limited Edition SteelBook. It's a strikingly beautiful SteelBook. Highly Recommended.
