Reviewed by Martin Liebman March 10, 2022
Universal has widely released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the 2019 film 'Downton Abbey.' The disc and digital content is identical to
that found in the UHD wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below
for
more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Downton Abbey 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

This attractive matte-finish SteelBook features a golden "silhouette," for all intents and purposes, of the house with many details still in evidence,
including windows and some of the ornate finishing work. It sits in front of a black background. The film's title appears in gold lettering top center,
flanked by a couple of horizontal gold lines. A golden crown appears top center. The rear panel features a full cast photo; it's lit in the middle to reveal a
brown background while black lines the periphery. A studio logo, legalese, and a model number all in white appear bottom left and right. The spine is
black with the film's title center, again in dark golden color. A small white Universal logo appears at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features another character photo spread, this one a bit more zoomed in. It is
flanked by two horizontal gold lines, is dark brown in the background, and black top and bottom beyond the demarcation lines.

Downton Abbey 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

This is a simple, elegant SteelBook that focuses on the house and those who inhabit it. That there is not much of a separation in terms of content
between the rear panel and the inner print is a bit disappointing, but nevertheless the SteelBook looks great. The film, too, looks wonderful in 4K Dolby
Vision and the Dolby Atmos soundtrack is just as good. Highly recommended.
