Doctor Who: The Movie 4K (1996)

New Year's Eve 1999. Returning home to Gallifrey with the remains the Master, the TARDIS is forced off course, plunging the Doctor into the middle of a San Fransisco gun battle. Critically wounded, the Doctor has to regenerate to save his own life. But the Master too has a new body with which to wreak havoc, and his ultimate goal is to take the Doctor's own existence

Note: BBC Studios has released three editions of Doctor Who: The Movie simultaneously, a standalone Doctor Who: The Movie in 1080 (with a bonus 1080 disc), a standalone Doctor Who: The Movie 4K with the main feature in 4K and a bonus 1080 disc, and this appealing Limited Edition SteelBook, which combines the 4K disc with the two 1080 discs. The SteelBook packaging offers a handsome matte finish with Paul McGann on the front panel and Sylvester McCoy and some of the supporting characters on the back panel. Blues, purples and just hints of gold and orange are featured on the exterior panels. The interior has the TARDIS flying through space. A small insert booklet is also included with some interesting writing and photos. The SteelBook is enclosed in a quarter slip as seen in the second and third hi res photos included with this review.

For anyone interested in Doctor Who: The Movie, I'd unabashedly recommend this edition over the other two, because you're getting the other two along with some nicely designed SteelBook packaging. Recommended.
