Sean Connery stars as the dynamic 007, on the trail of a diamond smuggler who leads him on a nerve-shattering chase through Amsterdam, Los Angeles and eventually, glittery Las Vegas.

20th Century Fox/MGM and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for Director Guy Hamilton's 1971 James Bond film 'Diamonds Are Forever.' The disc and digital content appears to be identical to that found in the 2012 wide release. I do not own that version and cannot absolutely verify. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

This is the embodiment of the slick, smooth, shiny, fingerprint magnet SteelBook, the latter of which is only amplified by the dark colors. The front
panel is a very deep, dark, majestic blue color. The film's title appears top center in less dramatic blue coloring with the familiar "007" emblem centered
below in the same color. Filling much of the bottom two-thirds of the Steelbook is a hand in silhouette holding a stone with a female figure inside. The
rear
panel depicts a diamond-like pattern on the left, fairly large, in solid black lines. A 20th Century Fox logo and a fair bit of legalese appear bottom left
while an MGM logo appears bottom
right of center. The spine carries over the dark blue coloring. The film's title appears in the same color block letters from the front, center. MGM and 007
logos appear
up top in white while a white
Blu-ray logo has been placed at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The lone Blu-ray disc is situated on the right in a central hub. The inner print
is very minimalist, offering what amounts to a blank, black slate with large deep blue colored "007" text at the bottom, only the top half or so of which
is
visible.

This SteelBook should find a "forever home" in every serious Bond home video library. One can't go wrong with Connery Bond films. The Blu-ray is great and the nice looking SteelBook is icing on the cake. Highly recommended.
