Cloverfield 4K Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Martin Liebman January 20, 2023
Paramount has widely released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the 2008 film 'Cloverfield.' The disc and digital content is identical to that
found in the 2018 wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review
below for
more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Cloverfield 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

Green is the color of choice for this UHD SteelBook release of Cloverfield. The front panel depicts the monster ravaging the city at night. Most of
the image is green, but a fire burning in the distance gives a red color to part of the center area. The edges feature some elements that show the image
is being seen through a viewfinder: battery indicators, a record notice, and a timestamp. The rear panel essentially continues the image with various
buildings on fire. Green is again the prominent color with oranges and reds dotting the scene. The spine breaks up the illusion. It is flat black with the
film's title in white, center. A Paramount logo appears at the top. Paramount has also included a transparent plastic slipcover. The front hides the scenes
of carnage and shows a ruined Statue of Liberty and the film's title in white within a camera lens. There is no other printing on the rear or sides.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features a camera looking at a video camera screen with action playing out on
it. The image is tinted very heavily green.

Cloverfield 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

This is a pretty cool SteelBook. It's too bad the disc is a recycle of the 2018 edition, but this is a fine film that looks as good as it can under its natural
constraints and now has packaging to match. Highly recommended.
