Based on a true story, Frank W. Abagnale was employed as a doctor, a lawyer, and as a co-pilot for a major airline company-all before reaching his 21st birthday. A successful con artist and master of deception, Frank is also a brilliant forger, whose skill at check fraud has netted him millions of dollars in stolen funds--much to the chagrin of the authorities. FBI Agent Carl Hanratty has made it his prime mission to capture him and bring him to justice, however Frank is always one step ahead of Carl, baiting him to continue the chase.

Paramount has widely released a Blu-ray SteelBook packaging variant for Steven Spielberg's 2002 film 'Catch Me If You Can.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the 2012 wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Paramount's SteelBook release for Catch Me If You Can is glossy. Fingerprints will show, but because the SteelBook is not excessively dark,
they will not show to excess. The front panel features DiCaprio and Hanks standing side-by-side, shoulder-to-shoulder, facing forward, arms crossed.
Variously colored block appear behind them to some degree of geometric mirroring on both sides. The background is predominantly a metallic blue in
the top half. The film's title appears top center in black text (the word "Me" is in white). Various black vertical lines run through, coming off letters such
as "f," "h," and "u" in the title. Actor names appear at the top with more vertical lines extending from the letters which naturally allow them to do so. A
few other adornments are scattered across what is a busy, but attractive, panel. The rear features a road system intersecting top left with a few cars
scattered on it. Much of the bottom and right portion features character silhouettes in and near yellow and orange lights coming from a couple of white
hanging lamps. The background is black. A Paramount logo appears bottom right, and some legalese bottom left. The spine is a metallic blue with the
film's title in the same style as the front, center. A white Paramount logo appears at the top and a white Blu-ray logo has been placed at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The lone Blu-ray disc is situated on the right on a central hub. The inner print
is a two-panel spread that features design cues similar to the front; predominantly black and metallic blue colors, character silhouettes, and various
blocky lines and patterns. The whole SteelBook is very much in stylistic agreement with traditional promotional material for the film.

This is not a creatively unique SteelBook if only because it holds fast to the traditional artwork for the film. However, it looks good, the colors are bold, and the Blu-ray is of a high quality, too. This will likely see a UHD release in the future with another SteelBook, so buyers might want to consider waiting a while and seeing what Parmount does with the film in the future.
