In early 1970s Las Vegas, low-level mobster Sam “Ace” Rothstein gets tapped by his bosses to head the Tangiers Casino. At first, he’s a great success in the job, but over the years, problems with his loose-cannon enforcer Nicky Santoro, his ex-hustler wife Ginger, her con artist ex Lester Diamond, and a handful of corrupt politicians put Sam in ever-increasing danger.

Universal and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for Director Martin Scorsese's classic 1995 film 'Casino.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Yes, the artwork features "floating heads," but it's not all bad. The SteelBook is not slick and glossy but rather grippy and flat. Fingerprints will not
show in abundance, vital given the predominance of black on both the front and rear exterior panels. The front lacks text of any kind. It's simply a
"floating
head" collage featuring Robert De Niro, looking forward; Joe Pesci, in profile facing to the left; and Sharon Stone, looking downward in profile to the
right. Below them is a distance overview of Vegas, with the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign prominent amongst the lights and sprawl. The
remainder of the
cover is the flat black color. The rear panel is a little more playful, less somber looking. It's black, dominantly, with dark colored chips falling about the
panel. Three playing cards, each with a character on them, also appear. De Niro's Ace is center and, appropriately, on the Ace of Spades. Above him is
the Queen of Hearts depicting Sharon Stone's Ginger and below is Joe Pesci's Nicky appearing on the Jack of Clubs. Small white print appears bottom,
including a Universal logo and some legalese. The spine is also a flat black color. The film's title appears center with the "C" and "O" slightly enlarged. A
Universal logo appears at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features a black and white image of Ace on the left, arms folded across his
torso,
standing watch on the Casino floor. Behind him and off to the right is background casino bustle, including a row of individuals working some of the
tables.

Casino is an undisputed classics that ranks highly on the list of Scorsese's best films, and Universal presents the film on the UHD format with a very good picture and sound upgrade. The SteelBook presentation is tasteful if not a little unspectacular, particularly on the front. It's worth the small premium over the regular edition. Highly recommended.
