Cars 4K (2006)

A high-octane adventure comedy that shows life is about the journey, not the finish line. Hotshot rookie race car Lightning McQueen is living life in the fast lane until he hits a detour on his way to the most important race of his life. Stranded in Radiator Springs, a forgotten town on the old Route 66, he meets Sally, Mater, Doc Hudson, and a variety of quirky characters who help him discover that there’s more to life than trophies and fame. Cars is full of freewheeling fun for everyone.

Cars 4K Blu-ray Movie Review

Disney and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive UHD SteelBook release for the 2006 animated film 'Cars.' This is another in Disney's "Disney 100" line of UHD SteelBook re-releases. The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. Note that this is the second SteelBook release for the film; the previous version released in conjunction with the film's UHD debut in September 2019. Disney has released Cars as part of its line of "Disney 100" UHD SteelBook re-releases. The front and rear panels are smooth and predominantly silver, which is reflective and attractive. These areas will show a little bit of fingerprinting. Center is a small, vertically oriented rectangular image featuring a hand-drawn Lightning McQueen, smiling, with some landmarks from Radiator Springs behind him. Above, center, is a debossed "Disney 100" logo. Below is the film's title, again with "Disney" and "Pixar" accompaniment, but it is neither embossed nor debossed. The rear panel is entirely silver with the exception of a small debossed Piston Cup, centered. The spine is very cool. It, too, is silver, with the film's title center, a Disney Blu-ray logo at the top, and a Disney 100 logo at the bottom. The Disney 100 logo is also spaced throughout the length of the spine in a light gray accent color.

Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features a colorful image featuring Lightning McQueen, Chik Hicks, and Strip Weathers racing down the track with fans filling the seat in the background.

This is a nice SteelBook that is obviously, this is aimed at serious Disney collectors who will enjoy a full shelf of these silvery beauties and it will more than likely look great when it's matched with more of the future releases. Recommended.
