Carlito's Way 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

Universal's dark red-and-black SteelBook is matte, which means it won't show basic handling fingerprints, good because of the very dark color scheme.
The front
panel depicts Pacino and Penn's characters floating from the mid-chest up. A dark city skyline appears below them across the bottom 15% or so of the
SteelBook surface. The film's title appears centered below the midline. The title is in white, as is Director Brian De Palma's credit. Actor names Al Pacino
and Sean Penn appear in red flanking the title top and bottom, respectively. The spine offers the same red-and-black color scheme with the city skyline
extending across to the back (it actually looks like a mirror image of the skyline from the front). A 1911 .45 semiautomatic handgun fills much of the
panel, barrel end pointing up. A studio logo and legalese appear
bottom left and a model number bottom right, all in white. The spine features the film's title in small white print, center. A Universal logo has been
placed at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features a still depicting Sean Penn's David Kleinfeld, left, and Al Pacino's
Carlito Brigante, right, sitting across the table one from another.

Carlito's Way 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

This Carlito's Way SteelBook certainly elicits something of a grim, hopeless feel around its exterior shell. Clad in red and black there's little
emotion beyond visceral anger and despair at work. It's effective but it's not exactly a standout design, either. The film, of course, is solid, as is the
UHD presentation. Recommended.
