Bloom Into You: Complete Collection Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Neil Lumbard January 21, 2024
Bloom into You is a charming and heartfelt romantic-drama. The anime series explores a lesbian romance and the bonds of two
girls connected to one another. Created by Nio Nakatani, Bloom into You is certainly a warmhearted romantic anime for fans of
lesbian dramas. Executive produced by Asuka Yamazaki, Daiji Horiuchi, Fumihiko Shinozaki, Keiji Matsuda, Masayuki Aoyagi, and Mitsuhiro
Sakakibara.
Produced by Daisuke Iwasaki, Kaori Kimura, Mitsuhiro Ogata, Noritomo Isogai, Shinpei Yamashita, and Tatsuya Kusunoki, Bloom into
You has a lot to offer for romantic junkies. The anime series features the lead voice work of Yūki Takada and Minako Kotobuki. The series
also features voice work by supporting voice actors Ai Kayano, Konomi Kohara, Mai Nakahara, Mikako Komatsu, Nanako Mori, Sho Nogami, Taichi
Ichikawa, and Yuka Terasaki.
Yū Koito (Yūki Takada) has spent her entire life daydreaming of the magical day where she falls in love and finds her dream companion. Yet the
second she finds herself asked to go on a date by her close male friend, Yū Koito discovers that being asked out by him does nothing for her. Now
wondering exactly why she doesn’t have an interest in going out on a date, Yū Koito begins to ponder why. Yū Koito soon discovers that
student council president Tōko Nanami (Minako Kotobuki) also got a similar dating request by a male friend and she also rejected the offer.
As Tōko and Yū begin to become friends themselves, Tōko ends up confessing soon after that she has deep feelings for Yū. Yū becomes startled
and confused. Unlike when her male friend asked her out on a date, Yū recognizes that she feels something when she learns of Tōko’s
feelings. Could it mean she too has feelings? Romance may be moments away – and all she needs to do is to learn to understand that
there’s no controlling who you have feelings for when it comes to love.
The voice-cast does a good job with the anime series. The voice acting on the series is impressive and the performances add to the series. The
main protagonists are compelling, too. There is something wonderful about the two leads and their romantic connection. Fans of sweet romantic
drama will certainly appreciate the romantic tension in this lesbian romantic drama. The character designs by Hiroaki Gōda (Amagami
SS, Please Teacher!) are also impressive as well. The designs do feel compelling and better than average for romantic dramas.

The animation is one of the highlights of the series. The animation is lush and colorful. The animation is ushered in under the art direction of
Kōki Nagayoshi (Samurai Warriors, Phantom in the Twilight). An impressive animation style. The series looks all the
better because of the artistry of the animation. A production with good efforts by the team of animators.
The cinematography by Tomoyoshi Katō (Ebiten: Ebisugawa Public High School's Tenmonbu, Lord El-Melloi II's Case
Files: Rail Zeppelin Grace note) is compelling as well. The cinematography offers a welcoming, bright, and heartfelt style. The visual
sensibilities are a perfect fit for a drama series. Romantic anime fans will appreciate the cinematography style.
The score composed by Michiru Oshima (Fullmetal Alchemist, The Tatami Galaxy) is entertaining and
enjoyable. The score has a good sense of serenity. The music adds romantic fun to the series and is beautiful to listen to. A compelling score by
Oshima.
Written by Jukki Hanada (Beyond the Boundary, Chobits), Bloom into You is a fun story and the
script highlights the compelling lead characters. The anime story does a good job of exploring a blossoming romance between two girls. The writing
reflects young love and the developing feelings between two girls.
Directed by Makoto Katō (ATRI: My Dear Moments, Beautiful Bones: Sakurako’s Investigation),
Bloom into You is a compelling romantic drama. Fans of romantic anime series will be compelling to check out the series and see
where it goes. The romantic element is intriguing to say the least. Fans of sweet and kindhearted romantic dramas will be the main audience for
Bloom into You.
