Avatar 4K Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Jeffrey Kauffman December 19, 2023
In the "wait, you also get category", Disney / Buena Vista has partnered with Best Buy for this exclusive SteelBook edition of the first
Avatar film in 4K (a 1080 disc is also included). Those interested in this release may want to contrast and compare with the "wide" Avatar 4K release that may not offer a SteelBook, but has its own
rather luxe packaging and an extra 1080 disc, to boot. That release also offers three versions of the film.

For my thoughts on the film, please consult my original

On disc supplements are detailed in the above linked reviews. The SteelBook offers front and back panels which perhaps a little surprisingly tend to
offer quite a bit of gray, with more expected pops of colors in the blue-green-teal range that have become so associated with the franchise. The discs
are stacked inside as seen in the fourth photo I've uploaded to this review, and the interior panels offer close-ups of the focal characters. A digital copy
is also included.
Avatar 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

Had this release not come out day and date with the above linked four disc DigiPack, which offers its own rather sumptuous looking packaging and more
content, it might have gained more traction. It's a handsome SteelBook, though, and one that should certainly appeal to collectors of this particular
kind of packaging.
