American Psycho 4K Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Jeffrey Kauffman October 2, 2021
Lionsgate is getting into the steelbook market with a bit more energy, and American Psycho 4K packaged that way may be an early
Hallowe'en treat for some. The contents of the package mirror the previous release from Lionsgate.

My thoughts on the original 4K UHD of the film can be found in my

American Psycho 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

While my American Psycho 4K Blu-ray review details
the on disc supplements, the packaging here is probably going to be the biggest selling point for a lot of fans. Despite its hints of mayhem and maybe
just a little blood letting, this isn't a "splashy" looking steelbook cover, though it's rather inventively designed. The clear slip case shows Patrick
Bateman removing a "mask", but when you slide off the slipcover, that removes the mask and you get an unadorned view of Patrick's blood
splattered face. The back cover features the back of Patrick's head, behind which he has thoughtfully hidden a hatchet. The color scheme is rather
reserved, emphasizing neutral tones and coming off as a kind of odd combo of beige and gray. Even the coloring of Patrick's face isn't especially robust.
Inside the packaging follows a fairly standard format, with both discs stacked on the right, and the digital code tucked into the left side. Under the
digital code, an inner print reveals Patrick's business card.
American Psycho 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

This is perhaps a somewhat reserved cover for such a provocative film, but that perhaps alludes to certain "masking" proclivities that Patrick is able to
muster, at least intermittently. Fans of the film who didn't pick up the original release may find this a fun addition to their collection, but it's a
surprisingly "laid back" steelbook cover, all things considered. The technical presentation and on disc supplements are all top notch, for those who are
considering making a purchase.
