Disney / Buena Vista is offering fans of Alien: Romulus the added allure of specialty SteelBook packaging, available at a number of online retailers like Amazon and Walmart. The disc contents match the Alien: Romulus 4K wide release.

On disc supplements are detailed in the above linked review. The SteelBook packaging features arresting photorealistic depictions of all the main human characters, along with one notable, um, non human character on the front panel, with a certain nefarious corporate logo on the back panel. The interior panel features the "face time" moment I mention in my review of the wide 4K UHD release. The color design is evocative on the front cover in particular, where oranges, reds and greens are all mixed nicely. The emphasis on blacks on the back cover may be prone to show things like fingerprints and other smudges. I was frankly surprised to see that this didn't feature any kind of mylar O ring offering some depth to the imagery. A cardboard J ring is folded over the SteelBook, as shown in two of the hi res photographs I've uploaded to accompany this review.

As my initial review of this film's wide release in 4K UHD stated, Alien: Romulus manages to stuff a fair number of "easter eggs" into the proceedings, while obviously paving the way for a whole new linked franchise. This handsome SteelBook release should appeal to collectors of this packaging format. Recommended.
