Aladdin 3D Blu-ray Movie Review

Aladdin (2019) is Disney's live-action adaptation of the beloved animated 1992 musical. Featuring a cast that includes Will Smith (Genie), Mena Massoud (Aladdin), and Naomi Scott (Jasmine), family audiences will be taken on a magic carpet ride to a fun and high-spirited land worth experiencing. Brimming with high production values and the great music of legendary Disney composer Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid), there is plenty of fun for the entire family.

Aladdin 3D Blu-ray Movie, Video Quality 

A whole new world. Watching Aladdin in 3D is in many respects a dream come true. Encoded with an immersive 1080p MPEG-4 MVC presentation, Aladdin is more breathtaking, entertaining, and fun in 3D than in any other format the world can offer audiences. The transfer has an impressive use of 3D effects with many moments in the film showcasing the Genie demonstrating his immense energy and vibrancy in (blue) spades.

The special effects soar and leap off the screen. The depth is remarkable and the image is consistently immersive, vibrant, and beautiful to behold in high-definition. There were no issues with ghosting, crosstalk, and other 3D anomalies when viewed on my display. A fantastic encode that makes the film even more enjoyable.

Aladdin 3D Blu-ray Movie, Audio Quality 

The Blu-ray release has received a 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio presentation and it sounds downright terrific on the 3D edition. Though the release lacks the Dolby Atmos track which is included on the 4K UHD edition, the soundtrack is nonetheless immersive, entertaining, and effective throughout the film. Aladdin fans will not feel disappointed by the quality soundstage.

Aladdin 3D Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras 

Three wishes? Make one of those wishes the Zavvi exclusive steelbook of Aladdin 3D. The stunning steelbook design showcases the iconic image of the magical lamp of the Genie. The front art is phenomenal and has a nice texture (with quality embossing). The back art-work is equally impressive and shows one of the most memorable images from the feature-film. The interior art also fits the bill and gives the steelbook a nice finishing touch.

Supplemental materials are found on the included 2D Blu-ray disc. The 3D Blu-ray disc presents the film with the best possible presentation and does not include supplements directly on the disc. Aladdin 3D Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation 

A fun family-adventure with romance and comedy in good measure, the live-action Aladdin is a blast for audiences of all ages and a worthwhile addition to the ever-expanding Disney universe. The 3D Blu-ray edition features a stunning presentation, lossless audio, and an assortment of extras. Fans of the film are strongly encouraged to pick-up this must-own release. For audiences equipped for 3D playback, absolutely no other viewing option compares: the 3D release is the best way to experience the magic carpet ride of Aladdin. No contest! The release comes highly recommended.

Disney strikes gold with another impressive steelbook edition. Aladdin 3D has received a wonderful deluxe treatment with the Zavvi exclusive steelbook. The release will please serious enthusiasts and casual collectors as well. A treasure.
