A Quiet Place 4K Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Martin Liebman February 29, 2020Paramount has widely released a SteelBook for the disquieting post-apocalyptic survival film 'A Quiet Place.' This is the second UHD SteelBook release for the film and the third overall; the first, Blu-ray only, debuted on July 10, 2018; the second, in 4K, on November 4, 2018. The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the general wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

A Quiet Place 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras

This SteelBook, part of the MondoX line, ships with the familiar transparent plastic slipcover that, on the front, features the film's title top left; UHD,
Blu-ray, and digital logos extreme top left; and the Mondo SteelBook banner running down the bottom left hand side. The spines are blank and the rear
includes a plot synopsis, the UPC, tech specs, and similar across a top banner. The bottom third houses a billing block.
The SteelBook is of predominantly black and dark red colors. The film's title appears top left, right underneath where it appears on the slipcover. A
couple of illuminated light bulbs feature prominently on the front, one of the key visuals form the film. "If they hear you they hunt you" text appears
bottom left. Corn, a farm house, and a car can also be seen across the front panel. The rear panel carries over the front image styling, featuring here a
larger, but slightly more distant, string of
lightbulbs running across
the panel, hanging above growing corn. The dark color will retain fingerprints, but it's certainly nowhere near as "bad," for lack of a better term, as
that original Blu-ray SteelBook. The spine features the film's title slightly above center. At the top is the Mondo logo and series number (038). The
SteelBook logo runs along the bottom third.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features, yes, more stringed lightbulbs and corn, just not quite so dark and
intensely red. Even the discs depict light bulbs.

A Quiet Place 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

There's certainly something to be said for design consistency. Does this one take it too far? That's up for debate, but the simplistic pattern and reference to one of the film's key features certainly fits the material. The film is first-class and the A/V presentation is excellent. Highly recommended.
