Reviewed by Neil Lumbard December 18, 2020A stunning visual extravaganza by Zack Snyder (Justice League, Sucker Punch), 300 is a action-packed event film based on the acclaimed graphic novel by Frank Miller. The film focuses on the epic quest of King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) as he brings with him 300 men to fight against the Persians of the time. The massive battle is staged against the backdrop of Thermopylae. Who will emerge victorious in the fight?
An entertaining spectacle, 300 is far from a thought-provoking masterpiece. Yet 300 stands as a great intro to the visual aesthetic of wonder-kid Zack Snyder and his fun cinematic style. The action scenes are intense and visually engaging. The cinematography by Larry Fong (Watchmen, Sucker Punch) is a remarkable achievement that cannot go understated. While not as strong as some of Snyder's best efforts (such as Sucker Punch and Watchmen), 300 is worth a watch and is even better in 4K UHD.

A quality steelbook, the release is a worthwhile addition to any fans collection. Only available at Best Buy.

300 is a visual feast-for-the-eyes. The entire production is a testament to the cinematographic aesthetic of director Zack Snyder (Justice League) and Larry Fong (Watchmen). Featuring a top-notch 4K UHD presentation, the disc is a must-own and the steelbook enhances the presentation of the release. A great collectors edition. Highly recommended.
