Product Description
A thrilling Yakuza film featuring eye-popping visuals, sensational fight sequences and the gorgeous Meiko Kaji (Lady Snowblood, Stray Cat Rock), in her first major role.
Akemi (Kaji) is a dragon tattooed leader of the Tachibana Yakuza clan. In a duel with a rival gang Akemi slashes the eyes of an opponent and a black cat appears, to lap the blood from the gushing wound. The cat along with the eye-victim go on to pursue Akemi's gang in revenge, leaving a trail of dead Yakuza girls, their dragon tattoos skinned from their bodies.
A bizarre blend of the female Yakuza film and traditional Japanese ghost story, with a strong dash of grotesque-erotica (the same movement was a sensibility of Edogawa Rampo whose works were adapted by Ishii in Horrors of Malformed Men), Blind Woman's Curse is a delirious mash-up of classic genre tropes, of which Ishii was no stranger, having directed everything from Super Giant films to Biker movies!
Review
A bizarre potpourri of ninkyo eiga yakuza movie, bakeneko ghost film and ero- grotesquery. --Midnighteye
One of the best examples of Pinky Horror. --10k Bullets

Curse is the story of Tachibana Akemi, the young heir apparent of the Tachibana gang slowly coming to fight the Aozora family. The film begins with a showdown between Akemi and a certain group, in which she accidentally blinds the titular blind woman. From then on She feels cursed, a trait she fears is spreading to all of those around her. She comes back to her family unwilling to fight the Aozora group who attack the Tachibana group with a little help from a turncoat spy Tatsu who wants to bed Chie Chan the daughter of a former Tachibana member who now runs a restaraunt. Into this conflict comes the blind woman a performer who's overcome her disability seeking revenge for her disfigurement at Akemi's hands. Everythings convoluted to the Nth degree in this story and I'm sure I'm leaving something out somewhere in that plot description.
Just everything in here entertains from the decent to the over the top acting. After this film and the two Lady Snowblood films Meiko Kaji shows why she was one of the top female actresses of the seventies having a hard beauty that adds to her performance. And the over the top art direction and photography just adds to the sweetness on the icing of this cake. This film isn't great art, but that doesn't keep it from being something more, great entertainment something not even the most serious of films today can achieve.
It’s a bit of a hodgepodge of genres and styles; a yakuza revenge cum black cat ghost story (sort of) with lots of dumb slapstick (which falls pretty flat, I might add), and some “grotesque erotica” thrown in as well. None of it completely works together, or congeals into a coherent plot, with wild tangential threads abandoned mid-film for no reason.
And yet…
There is still something very compelling about “Blind Woman’s Curse.” Lots of weird, atmospheric moments, haunting images, and splatter. This is a film I will be revisiting with the commentary track. The final confrontation between Meiko Kaji’s yakuza boss, and the titular Blind Woman is great cinema, particularly with that exchange around a sword slash across the eyes of a dragon tattoo.

Pas de temps mort tout au long du film, on ne voit pas les minutes défilés ..... Meiko Kaji au top comme d'habitude.
Des bonus intéressant, mais vraiment trop court, c'est le seul bémol de cette édition.
The communication with the seller was very smooth and easy going.
The product itself is awesome. Nice Blu Ray with the awesome Kaji Meiko.
