Blu-Ray Review: Definitely worth the upgrade from standard DVD for superior picture and sound. One of my favorite fantasy movies with a killer soundtrack. This is a superior fantasy movie just like the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Wheel of Time, or Game of Thrones. All of these movies/shows take themselves seriously, which makes the world believable. And what a movie this is! The knights are all in platemail which is an excellent site to see. Great realistic battles. The knights just grind at each other in armor. The character Merlin and his magic is so intriguing. Beware Moran Le Fay! As a treat, even Patrick Stewart appears as a knight (Leodegrance). This movie is such high quality, and it came out in 1981. Back in high school my English teacher showed part of this movie in class for its story/literature value.I as many others wait for a directors cut with those few extra scenes that were filmed. Will we get our wish? Time will tell.
