Product Description

Mariachi (Antonio Banderas) follows a trail of blood to an infamous Mexican drug lord, Bucho, for an action-packed, bullet-riddled showdown.

    Loved the movie. In fact, I love the trilogy so much I watch them in sequence. Here's the thing though. Everyone "ignores" the actor change between El Mariachi and Desperado, as if it were a mere casting change. But, it's not. It's actually part of a massive plot error.

    Why? Because the guy in El Mariachi, Campo, shows up near the end of Desperado as the one with the machine guns in his case. It's even the same actor!

    They cast the same actress in the dying woman opening scene of Desperado, but again, she was actually Campo's girlfriend.

    Given that it was pointedly made plain in El Mariachi, that villain was named "Moco", short for Mauricio, and that they recast the Moco role, with Bucho being yet a third actor. And clearly, Moco was NOT the same actor as who played Bucho. My conjecture, and it that because let's face it, they're both old movies and nothing more....my conjecture is that Bucho is actually Moco's boss in the cartel. If that were not true, the reveal at the end wouldn't make sense, since Desperado would already know.

    Like I said, I love the movies; it's just odd the obvious blending of storylines to make it work.
