- Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2016I adored the first ABC's of Death anthology, and this one was even better and I can't emphasize enough just how much I enjoyed and loved this movie. Enough to watch it more than just once! This movie is filled with many short horror films, only from about two to seven minutes in length each, spanning a huge variety of topics, themes, and horror tropes. A must-watch for horror movie fans and fans of the strange and unusual. There are many unique and disturbing things to watch in this movie, and it was very much worth purchasing from Amazon. I would recommend this to all of my friends who love horror movies, horror anthologies, short film, and very bizarre things. If that sounds like you, then this movie will be a treat for you!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2022Like the short horror flick stories * Love the international / across the world pieces * Like that they included male frontal nudity (like they do in non-American countries) * Diversity in these short stories * Worth the horror flick watch!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2014If you liked ABC's 1 then this will blow you away! Out of the 26 shorts there are only two that are bad. One is bad because they tried too hard, the other is just bad. That being said I watched this three times in one weekend and loved it more each time. Tons of fun to be had here! Stop reading reviews and go watch ABC's of Death 2, you'll be glad you did. (As always watch through the credits for an extra tasty surprise. Enjoy!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2014The majority of horror films out there are just no good. There are a lot of reasons for this, but one of the biggest is that it's not that hard to come up with scary, nasty, or disturbing scenes and ideas, but it's really hard to draw that horror out to feature film length. What you end up with are a ton of bad movies that maybe have one or two genuinely creepy moments.
The ABCs OF DEATH answers that problem by giving 26 (or so) horror directors just about five minutes to tell their creepy tale. As an anthology idea, it's excellent, although the first installment in the (hopefully continuing) series was woefully lacking in quality. I'm not sure why this was -- maybe the folks behind the compilation didn't vet the directors' ideas before giving them the go ahead. Whatever the reason, although there were some good bits, the first ABC anthology was more forgettable than anything else.
This second installment shows a marked increase in the quality of the segments. Although there are a few that fall way short, and a few more that are decent-to-humdrum, the majority of them pack a punch, and they run the gamut from creature horror, slashers, zombies, gore, sci-fi, and just plain weird (I'm looking at you, Japan). If you're a horror fan who's a little bummed about the genre's overall crapitude, this anthology is a nice change of pace. Also, it's a great balm for the shortened attention spans that modern culture more and more seems to spawn.
In the spirit of the clips, I've decided to review each segment with a haiku, but I won't give away what the letter stands for since that's sometimes the point of the clip. Anyway, here it is: my 26 reviews in haiku ...
A: This is what happens / when dreams meet reality. / Not what you'd expect. (5 stars)
B: Julian Barratt / from the funny Mighty Boosh / proves he's got the chops. (5 stars)
C: Mob rule can be wrong. / Sometimes justice is sloppy. / (Just like this story.) (4 stars)
D: One of the grossest / claymation films I have seen. / Lynchian? Not quite. (3 stars)
E: Not really horror / but funny enough that it / doesn't matter much. (5 stars)
F: Doesn't make much sense / in a few important ways. / Solid acting, though. (3 stars)
G: Generation gap / leads to a nasty climax / and gross nudity. (3 stars)
H: Bill Plympton cartoon / looks the way they always do. / A pun for pun's sake. (2 stars)
I: Silly violence / and style over substance. / SFX showcase. (3 stars)
J: Pray the gay away? / Disturbing symbolism / contradicts itself. (4 stars)
K: Dark and disturbing / beginning and middle are / seemingly cut short. (4 stars)
L: Voodoo sacrifice / ruined by bad and cheesy / mad monster effects. (1 star)
M: Music video / with nasty slo-mo madness. / A killer ending. (5 stars)
N: Snappy editing / and punchy symbolism / all come together. (5 stars)
O: Turns the trope around / on the mindless need to kill / in most scary films. (5 stars)
P: Stooges overstay / their welcome and break the rules / for a stupid joke. (1 star)
Q: Nasty idea / unfortunately tips its / hand way too early. (3 stars)
R: Black and white segment / is nice and dark, but has too / many twist endings. (3 stars)
S: Split screen slasher film. / Phone call. Doorbell. Hammer. Blood. / Truly disturbing. (5 stars)
T: Pretty obvious / where this segment is headed. / Over the top much? (3 stars)
U: Proud of its letter. / Some social commentary / that lacks a brainwave. (2 stars)
V: Found footage phone call. / Bromance and romance collide. / Some people get screwed. (5 stars)
W: Some boys' action toys / -- when you really stop to think -- / are kinda messed up. (4 stars)
X: Really annoying. / Nasty for the hell of it. / Missing: a story. (1 star)
Y: Japanese madness / leads to insane death effects. / Gets a little old. (4 stars)
Z: Pregnant with meaning / as well as some nasty twists. / Not for the squeamish. (5 stars)
- Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2024It was an okay Blu-ray.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2015Living up to the cunning and visual stimulation of the 1st film, we have part 2. A wonderful collab of varying styles that compare and contrast in such an amazing way that unites the piece and brings it together, individually these tales are on and off between horrible to amazing, but as a whole the collab works in a very pleasing way. Very artsy and gritty. I loved it!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2014So much better than the first one. It feels like they actually had standards this time. If you hated the first one, get over it and try this out. Only the letter P made me want to kill myself. I counted 12 that I love, 1 that I hate, and the rest were just fine. I'm ready for ABC3.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2015ABC's Death was excellent as I may had posted in the rating but it definitely had it's moments. The short were for the most part made up of dark humor which I think that ploy was well delivered.

5.0 out of 5 stars The first film was excellent with funny
The first film was excellent with funny, scary, creepy, and downright weird segments directed by a collection of brilliant if somewhat macabre directors, and this one is just as good with a whole new group of strange and horrible scenarios(the last one is particularly weird), from a new bunch of excellent lunatics.Buy it! watch it! I think I can guarantee that you won't forget this film in a hurry, especially if your pregnant!

5.0 out of 5 stars this movie is a tonne of fun and each short film is so drastically different from ...
Unfortunately, I can't write this review unbiased as I did some work on the final segment. That being said, this movie is a tonne of fun and each short film is so drastically different from each other that the movie as a whole will keep you glued to find out what's next. This blu-ray is worth the commentary track alone, some of these directors put everything they had into making something creative and unique. "W" and "Z" will certainly have an impact on you, either from a story stand point or the simply enjoying the craft of practical SFX. Great movie, enjoy it!

1.0 out of 5 stars Erreur sur la piste française
Pour Le premier film je savais bien qu'il était en VOSTFR mais pour le volume 2 (celui-ci) il est bien indiqué qu'il y a une piste française dolby 5.1 alors que ce n'est pas vrai. Dommage...
