Pastor Hall Blu-ray Movie
Indicator Series | Limited Edition
Powerhouse Films | 1940 | 95 min | Not rated | Jun 28, 2022 | Randy Miller III
This film is based on the true story of Pastor Martin Neimuller, who was sent to Dachau concentration camp for criticising the Nazi party. The small German village of Altdorf in the 1930's has to come to terms with Chancellor Hitler and the arrival of a platoon of Stormtroopers (preceded by a flock of sheep - subtle). The Stormtrooper go about teaching and enforcing 'The New Order' but Pastor Hall is a kind and gentle man who won't be cowed. Some villagers join the Nazi party avidly, some just go along with things, hoping for a quiet life but Pastor Hall takes his convictions to the pulpit.

Abe Lincoln in Illinois Blu-ray Movie
Warner Archive Collection
Warner Bros. | 1940 | 110 min | Not rated | Sep 13, 2022 | Randy Miller III
Among the most masterful matchups of actor and role in screen history is this stirring film of Robert E. Sherwood's beloved play taking a thoroughly human look at the early years of our 16th President. Raymond Massey wonderfully plays the future Great Emancipator in a chronicle of his backwoods childhood to his phenomenal rise to President. Ruth Gordon also does memorable work as driven, ambitious Mary Todd Lincoln, whose vision of Abe's leadership destiny will not be denied by anyone.
