Both of Hollywood's biggest tornado-focused films are packaged together in this 'Twisters Double Feature 4K Limited Edition 2-Movie SteelBook' courtesy of Universal. Including the original 'Twister (1996)' and the new 'Twisters (2024)' the package is sure to delight fans of big-budget disaster movies and fans of the films' stars Helen Hunt, Bill Paxton, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell. It is currently the only option to obtain the 4K presentation of both films in one package. Each film is given it's own 4K UHD disc which is identical to their previous standalone releases, and each film is housed on its own hub. A Digital Code redeemable through Movies Anywhere is also included. Please scroll down to the 'Special Features and Extras' section below for a discussion of the new SteelBook.

The new Twisters Double Feature 4K Limited Edition 2-Movie SteelBook is all about parity. The title might read Twisters Double Feature but each feature film receives equal representation. One massive tornado splits the cover image in two. The original's Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton are found centered on the left of the funnel, with their iconic truck racing through a field below them. To the right, the sequel's Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell, and Anthony Ramos look up at the threatening skies. For balance, their truck races through a field below them. A sinister and stormy dark grey is the predominant color here, with muted greens coloring the fields the two trucks careen through. The title text is white. The spine is simple. It's the same white text that is found on the front cover, centered here in a field of black. Universal's logo sits at the bottom. Dark and ominous skies dominate the back cover. Two massive tornados spawn from the turbulent mass of clouds, one reaching the ground on either side of a remote barn and windmill that sits in the midst of windswept grasses. Fans of the films have occasionally rather cheekily wondered why the actors on the front of the releases of these films seem to be looking away from the tornado, and while that "issue" isn't solved here, the outer cover completely captures the tone and thrust of the two films. Opening the SteelBook, the Digital Code rests under the two tabs on the left side. On the right side, the 4K UHD discs are stagger-stacked, each on its own hub, with the Twisters (2024) 4K UHD disc on top, and the original film's 4K UHD disc below. Removing the discs and the Digital Code reveals an inner print comprised of two separate but similar stills. On the left, a storm-battered Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell hold on for dear life. On the right, the original film's Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton do the same. This SteelBook features the preferred matte finish that should do a commendable job resisting fingerprints associated with normal handling.

As dark and threating as the skies in the films themselves, the new Twisters Double Feature 4K Limited Edition 2-Movie SteelBook does an excellent job capturing the excitement and storm-chasing action of the two films included here. Commendably, each film receives an equal amount of real estate on both the front and the interior. The more "generic" storm scene on the back applies equally to them both, and the pair of tornados serves as a nod to the two films as well. It's an appealing package, and as of this writing, the only way to acquire the 4K presentations of both films in one case. SteelBook collectors and fans of the film will want to pick up copy. Strongly recommended.
