I Parry Everything: Complete Collection Blu-ray Movie Review

Reviewed by Neil Lumbard March 12, 2026

I Parry Everything is an action-fantasy adventure comedy series. I Parry Everything is from creators KRSG  (manga) and Nabeshiki (light novel). Featuring original character designs by Kawaguchi. The production features animation by OLM.

Produced by Cong Cao (The Stories of Girls Who Couldn't Be Magicians, The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash), Hiroyuki Aoi (April Showers Bring May Flowers, Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer), Kei Ookubo (Me and the Alien MuMu, PuniRunes Puni 2), Kōta Kimizuka (Gushing Over Magical Girls, Sai-Kyo-Oh! Zukan: The Ultimate Tournament), Shōta Itō (Shinkalion Change the World, Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion Z), Takahiro Hirano (Sakura Wars the Animation), Takashi Yamamoto (Getter Robo Arc), Yoshiaki Maeda (Witch Watch), and Yurika Nakano (Promise of Wizard, Astro Note). The series features theme song performances by Anna Suzuki (OP; ED), Arisa Sonohara (as Utahime Dream All-Stars; ED), Carin Isobe (as Utahime Dream All-Stars; ED), Kaya (as Utahime Dream All-Stars; ED), Rena Yamasaki (as Utahime Dream All-Stars; ED), Reo Kurachi (as Utahime Dream All- Stars; ED), and Tomomi Jiena Sumi (as Utahime Dream All-Stars; ED). Featuring the voices of Daiki Hamano and Ryōko Maekawa.

Noor (Daiki Hamano) has always wanted to be an adventurer. There has never been anything else in the world that Noor wants more. Yet after years upon years of constant training, Noor still hasn’t managed to gain any of the skills necessary to become an adventurer at the Level E base rank. The ability to be an adventurer has been hindered by his inability to learn good offensive techniques.

Despite Noor failing to learn these advanced techniques, Noor has become exceptional at deflecting and the art of parrying. It is in fact, the main thing that Noor does. The ability to parry is unexpectedly useful when an A-Rank Demon attacks a princess.

Noor is the only one capable of stopping the demon and it is all by using his parrying ability. Can Noor turn out to be an unexpectedly successful hero even while ranked as a “F” rank adventurer whose abilities are only supposed to allow him to aid others with simple tasks? Parry away!

The lead protagonist is compelling. Noor is a good lead character for the series. The sense of adventure instilled in Noor is something that propels the series forward. There is a passion for adventure and the character is determined to do well even despite his low ranking. These aspects of the series add to the charm.

The character designs by Chikako Noma are well done. The lead and supporting cast of characters have compelling character designs. The designs certainly work well for the production and help to bring the anime series and its characters to life.

The animation is impressive and engaging. The series features solid art direction by Mikihiro Harabe (The Fruit of Evolution 2: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made, Remake Our Life!) and chief animation direction by Chikako Noma (Mob Psycho 100 III, My Hero Academia), Toshiaki Ōhashi (Beyblade Burst QuadStrike, The Apothecary Diaries), and Yūji Ikeda (The Apothecary Diaries, Burn Up Excess). The art certainly plays a key role in the series. The team of animators did a good job bringing everything to the table and providing fans with something compelling. The background animation and line art are impressively realized. The animated landscape is brought to life by the team of animators.

The cinematography by Shingo Fukuyo (A Certain Scientific Railgun, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) is compelling. There is a lot to appreciate about the cinematographic style. The series has a compelling sense of vision with regards to cinematography. The cinematography shines with bright color and a sense of adventure.

The music by BeauDamian (Hell Mode) and Tatsuhiko Saiki (The Dawn of the Witch, My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!) adds to the excitement. The score is a good backdrop to the fun action. The score builds and provides character moments and fun for the production. The music is a essential element of the series.

The series is written by Shigeru Murakoshi (Apocalypse Hotel, Dark Gathering). The scripting is solid and the characterizations are well done. There is plenty to appreciate about the screenwriting and what it brings to the table. The scripts are fun and create a sense of action-adventure for fans to enjoy.

Directed by Dai Fukuyama (Beyblade X, Beyblade Burst QuadDrive), I Parry Everything is well done action-adventure fun. Fukuyama has a solid vision as director and brings the action to the forefront of the production. There is plenty for fans to appreciate about the series and the emphasis on the journey makes it all the more compelling. I Parry Everything is not a classic but it has a fun directorial style and vision that makes it worthwhile and fans will appreciate its sense of energy.

I Parry Everything: Complete Collection Blu-ray Movie, Video Quality  4.0 of 5

Released on Blu-ray by Sentai Filmworks, I Parry Everything is presented in 1080p MPEG-4 AVC encoded high-definition in the original television broadcast aspect ratio of 1.78:1 widescreen. The high-definition transfer looks crisp and clear on the release. Colors are well reproduced. The background animation and line artwork are well highlighted by the transfer.

One of the great things about physical media and the Blu-ray disc format is the superior video encoding compared to streaming video services. Streaming services tend to provide lower video bit-rates when compared to physical media. For fans wanting to eek out the absolute best presentation quality the physical format offers a key advantage.

I Parry Everything: Complete Collection Blu-ray Movie, Audio Quality  4.0 of 5

The release is presented in English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 and Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 (with English subtitles). The sound direction by Ryō Tanaka (A Galaxy Next Door, I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince) is preserved on the release. Dialogue is crisp, clear, and easy to understand. The score is well highlighted on the release. The soundstage is vibrant and dynamic sounding. The English subtitles are well done an are free from egregious spelling or grammatical errors.

One of the best aspects of the Blu-ray disc format is the lossless audio encoding. Streaming video services are limited to lossy (non-lossless) audio encoding. For home theater enthusiasts and audiophiles alike, the physical media option provides the best quality audio. Enthusiasts appreciate the audio quality difference and what the Blu-ray format brings to the table.

I Parry Everything: Complete Collection Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras  0.5 of 5

Clean Opening Animation (HD, 1:32)

Clean Closing Animation (HD, 1:32)

Unfortunately, the release is close to barebones and does not contain more extensive on disc supplements. The release could have benefited from some additional extras such as behind the scenes making-of documentaries, featurettes, cast/crew interviews, roundtable discussions, comic con panels, photo galleries, art galleries, and other similar extras could have added a lot of value to the release. In the era of streaming, sometimes a extras-packed release could mean the difference between a one time stream and a physical purchase.

I Parry Everything: Complete Collection Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation  3.0 of 5

I Parry Everything is an entertaining action-adventure anime series. The series has a compelling lead protagonist. The animation is well done and the production values impress. Director Dai Fukuyama (Beyblade X) made something that fans of action anime will find compelling and it is aimed at that Shonen audience. For Shonen anime fans especially, there is a lot to appreciate and fans will be entertained by the spectacle of the series and what it has to offer in regards to action sequences.

The Blu-ray release has impressive high-definition video and lossless audio. Home theater enthusiasts will especially appreciate the presentation quality . Unfortunately, the extras are rather sparse on the release. The set is close to barebones. The set could have benefited from a more robust bonus features assortment. Nonetheless, fans of the series may wish to consider a purchase to obtain a permanent copy for their physical media anime collection. Recommended.
