Hopefully never overshadowed by its lukewarm 2000 remake with Sylvester Stallone, Mike Hodges' 1971 classic crime drama Get Carter is now over 50 years old and still packs an incredible punch. The film stars Michael Caine in one of his career-best roles as ruthless London gangster Jack Carter, who's on the hunt for the man (or men) responsible for his brother's mysterious death in a car accident. Last released domestically by Warner Bros. as a decently-appointed 2014 Blu-ray, the film makes its long-awaited US 4K debut courtesy of Warner Archive, who have assembled a well-rounded and affordable combo pack using elements obtained from BFI Video's 2022 4K and remastered Blu-ray editions.

NOTE: These screenshots are sourced from the included remastered Blu-ray, which is also available separately.
As implied earlier, Warner Archive's 2160p/HDR10/Dolby Vision transfer is fundamentally identical to the transfer that BFI Video presented on their OOP 2022 4K Limited Edition as well as their standard 4K edition. My colleague Dr. Svet Atanasov awarded it a perfect 5/5 rating for video in his linked review of the Limited Edition, so please see that write-up for what to expect here. I'm in total agreement that this is basically a flawless effort that's extremely authentic to its source and will overwhelmingly please fans of the film. Disc encoding is identical too, and videophiles will be pleased to know that duties in that department were handled by the ever-reliable Fidelity in Motion. (If you know, you know.) Overall, enough can't be said about the visual qualities of this release, so buy with confidence.
As such, the included Blu-ray's 1080p/SDR transfer is also a direct port of BFI's Blu-ray and shares similar qualities only limited by format boundaries; in all respects, though, it's likewise a proportionately perfect effort. Even if you're not yet equipped for UHD, you'll still be able to notice a strong visual upgrade from Warner Bros.' 2014 Blu-ray.

Similarly, the DTS-HD 2.0 Master Audio mix presented here, which is a split-channel presentation of the original mono source, is also identical to BFI's 2022 releases and details are available at the review linked above.
English (SDH) subtitles are offered during the main feature only, not the extras listed below.

This two-disc release ships in a keepcase with poster-themed cover artwork and a matching slipcover.
The bonus features overwhelmingly mirror those found on BFI Video's 2022 4K Limited Edition and their standard edition; all are accounted for (and described in more detail in the linked review) except for two featurettes, a script gallery, and of course the Limited Edition's printed content, and everything can be found on both discs.

Mike Hodges' Get Carter is a hugely influential British crime drama that passed the half-century mark a few years ago. Its anniversary was celebrated by UK-based BFI Video's outstanding 2022 4K Limited Edition and standard 4K edition, with separate remastered Blu-ray editions to match. While region-free and obviously English-friendly, those unable to import those discs have likely waited patiently for a domestic release... and now, your time has come. Warner Archive's two-disc 4K/Blu-ray combo pack is available for a very affordable price and it's almost 100% identical to BFI's releases, retaining the same flawless A/V specs and almost all of the bonus features. Highly Recommended, obviously.
